Discover Das Mauerwerk: A Charming Café Experience in Bad Oeynhausen

Located along the serene Weser Bike Trail at Lohbuscher Weg 14, 32549 Bad Oeynhausen, Germany, Das Mauerwerk is more than just a café; it’s a delightful escape into a world of exquisite pastries and comforting breakfasts. This inviting venue successfully combines a love for innovative desserts with a cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for families and friends alike.

As you step inside, you are greeted not only by the rich aromas of freshly brewed coffee but also with an array of stunningly crafted cakes that beckon for attention. Silke W-S sums it up perfectly, proclaiming, “Tolle Hofcafé mit viel Liebe zum Detail!” The cake selection here is vast, and each slice feels like a sweet masterpiece, crafted with passion and care.

While the café offers a pleasant ambiance, it is the food that truly steals the show. Customer reviews highlight that the quality is second to none, as noted by Kosziescha Dorothea: "We were impressed by the quality of the cakes and coffee." With prices that are quite reasonable for such artisanal delights, it’s easy to indulge without breaking the bank. Breakfast options are also available, making it an excellent choice for a leisurely start to the day. Although some guests, like B R, noted occasional issues with refills during breakfast hour, many appreciate being able to sit back and enjoy their selection surrounded by a friendly atmosphere.

Families will find Das Mauerwerk particularly appealing, thanks to its thoughtful layout that includes ample space for kids to enjoy themselves. Alexander Wigelin shares a charming experience: "Das Café bietet nicht nur eine traumhafte Aussicht – während unsere Kinder sich dort ausgelassen austoben konnten." As the little ones have fun on the meticulously maintained playground, the adults can savor a moment of peace, accompanied by a perfectly brewed coffee and a slice of homemade cake.

While the warm dishes received some constructive feedback—like the scrambled egg being slightly overcooked—this is a café that clearly listens to its patrons and strives for excellence. Taygun Yıldırım praised the variety of food selection, especially enjoying a family breakfast experience despite minor culinary hiccups, suggesting that even with room for improvement, the overall offering is commendable.

In conclusion, whether you're cycling along the Weser Bike Trail or simply want a cozy spot to catch up with friends, Das Mauerwerk stands out as a delightful café that promises quality, comfort, and a bit of sweetness in every visit. Just be mindful of the limited parking space, as it can fill up quickly, especially during busy times.

We were impressed by the quality of the cakes and coffee. Prices are normal for today’s pleasures. WC was clean. Direct on the Weser Bike Trail. The parking lot was way too small (we came at a slow time and would hate to try for a spot when it’s busy)and way too narrow.

The breakfast was good but there was no refill of certain items despite there being 2.5h left which was disappointing as you want to leisurely enjoy your time rather than having to pile things on your plate just in case there isn't anything left later on.

Heute das 1. Mal dort gewesen. Tolles Hofcafé mit viel Liebe zum Detail! So eine riesige Kuchen-/Tortenauswahl! … und mega lecker! Kommen bestimmt wieder!

It's a nice option to enjoy family breakfast at the weekend. Our kid has enjoyed the food selections. Thanks. The atmosphere is quite good . The friendliness of the stuff can easily bitter your enjoy. However, my friendly suggestions would be about hot served foods. The scrambled egg was a bit overcooked and dry. The ananas with bacon wrap are a bit too complex for my taste. In summary, this place is in our family list for weekend places to start the day. May be I have to try the evening menu soon.
